Custom Dual-Use Plastic Pelletizer for Guatemala Client: 150kg/h HDPE & LDPE Solution

Project Overview

In December 2025, Rayli delivered a custom-designed plastic pelletizer machine (also known as plastic granulator or recycling pellet extruder) for our long-term Guatemala client. The core challenge? Their raw materials included both hard HDPE flakes and soft LDPE film — and they needed one single two-stage plastic pelletizer to handle both, without sacrificing output capacity.

Project Details

  • Project Date: December 7, 2025
  • Location: Guatemala
  • Capacity: 150 kg/h
  • Model: 125mm + 110mm
  • Materials Processed: HDPE hard flakes + LDPE film

The Challenge: Hard + Soft Plastic, Same Output Requirement

The client’s primary material was soft LDPE film, but they also process hard HDPE flakes. Most plastic pelletizer are built for either hard or soft materials — switching between them usually means losing production speed, or buying two separate machines.

Our goal:

✅ Handle both hard and soft materials

✅ Maintain a minimum 150kg/h output for both

✅ Keep the machine as cost-effective as possible

Our Solution: Modular Feeding & Pressing System

We designed a granulator equipped with two interchangeable feeding and pressing systems, allowing the client to switch between materials in just a few steps:

For Soft Materials (LDPE Film)

  • Feeding: Conveyor belt
  • Pressing: Dedicated pressing device for soft films
  • Output: 150kg/h+ (achieved easily with the initial setup)

For Hard Materials (HDPE Flakes)

  • Feeding: Replace conveyor belt with an elevator
  • Pressing: Replace pressing device with a standard feed hopper
  • Additional adjustment: Change pulleys to match material flow
  • Output: Maintains 150kg/h minimum

While the system change requires a small amount of reconfiguration, it eliminates the need for two separate plastic pelletizers — saving the client both space and cost.

Why This Solution Works for Our Client

  • Cost Savings: No need to purchase two separate machines
  • Flexibility: Switch between hard and soft materials as needed
  • No Output Loss: 150kg/h capacity maintained for both material types
  • Proven Performance: Built for long-term operation with our Guatemala client
